Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl The movie Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil girl is based on the struggle of a girl to become a pilot in the Indian Airforce. Flight lieutenant Gunjan Saxena is an Indian Air Force (IAF) officer and a former helicopter pilot. She was the first Indian woman to fly in a combat zone, i.e., during the Kargil war. The role of Gunjan Saxena has been played by Janhavi Kapoor. The movie begins with a girl dreaming to become a pilot. Many dream but only a few have the courage and the will to achieve... Gunjan Saxena is one of them. Let me begin by stating the obvious: This is a Bollywood movie. Hence, there are songs where there is no need of songs, things are exaggerated to a great extent and it is pathos. The struggle is glorified such that the Indian Air force has been sketched in a bad light. This has evoked controversy and there are discussions to ban this movie. Personally, I feel this is wrong.
