Yes please! (Book)

Image
Yes please!           Yes please! Thank you! sorry sorry sorry! The miracle words of Amy Poehler that she believes can get you anywhere. I heard this book as an audiobook in the voice of the author. But I believe its reading wouldn't have been bad either. Amy Poehler is an American comedian, an improv actor, and a person with a sharp intellect. Hence, this book isn't about three simple steps to becoming a comedian. No, it isn't about becoming an overnight improv actor and this book is certainly not called HOW TO MAKE PEOPLE LAUGH! This book is a memoir. It is the journey of Amy Poehler from dawn to dusk. It's her ideas and observations glued together. It is funny ... hilarious at certain points but it is also emotional. Frankly, it is a roller coaster ride. I mean that woman is just amazing!              Sometimes you will relate to Amy like hell yeah! Go girl! I totally get that. Then there are moments like... Amy come o...

The Picture of Dorian Gray (Book)

The Picture of Dorian Gray              A beautiful book written by Oscar Wilde. Being a literary classic, it consists of an old version of English but an amusing read nonetheless. There are certain times when the reader may fail to connect or the story may seem to be dragging on but the wisdom imparted is unique. The book is filled with quotations that will make you ponder and question the philosophical ideas about a person's true nature. How is our action influenced by our thoughts? Who influences our thoughts? What is the corruption of the soul? When do we decide to change ourself? Do we realize when we change? And many more questions are explored in this calm and serene read...           Dorian Gray, once an innocent young man, untouched by the cruelty of the world and living a peaceful life undergoes a grave personality change. Ideally, the protagonist develops overtime. The persona is beautified, the character attain...

The Trials of Apollo- The Hidden Oracle (Book)

The Trials of Apollo-The Hidden Oracle            Another amazing book by Rick Riordan is out! Another mystery, another adventure but also another character. This time the lord of plague, medicine, archery, music, and poem has come to the mortal world himself. Apollo has been punished by Zeus and now has to undergo a bunch of trials to prove himself to become an Olympian again. This book is a little different from what the Percy Jackson fans have always been reading but no less adventurous. Rick's humor is the same as always! You never know how the next sentence is going to tickle your funny bone.           I started Percy Jackson when I was in 6th grade. I became an instant fan. It's actually really hard to meet a person who has read a Percy Jackson and not liked it. I personally have never met such a person. Rick's work is amazing and mostly a hit (yes, he is capable of writing shit too). The Kane Chronicles were ...
